Disney has offered to donate tickets enough
for a few families to go to the Disney On Ice
show which is here in December.

It's a great show, fun for the whole family,

more. Tickets will be raffled off at the Fall
Harvest Festival on Nov. 14.

A room parent is a liaison between what is going on with the PTA and the teacher in the classroom. The walls shook as the giant Taiko drums
reverberated through the school.

Johnny Mori
and his troupe showed children how to bang
the instruments, how to make them, and then
danced around in a dragon costume.

The program
ispart of the arts enrichment program for the
school and funded through the Valley View
Elementary School PTA.

Our librarian Carol
Cain says the cultural experience had a great
impact on some of the kids.

"The kinders came to the library today during
recess, due to the rain. and I asked them
what they thought of the drummers today," Ms.
Cain says. "They all loved it, they all
started drumming on the tables. It was so
adorable. They said they wanted to be
drummers when they grow up."

She adds, "It is so impressive to see how
much our children get out of all the
wonderful experiences they have at Valley
View. We are so lucky to have such a
supportive PTA. The choices of events are
outstanding."

One of the highlights of the Fall Harvest Festival is the really amazing baskets that get raffled off that are put together by each classroom.

People can buy tickets for a drawing of a basket worth a whole lot.

But, we need donations for each classroom's baskets, so here is how they are being divided up.

Classrooms are collecting the prizes now, and then will be stored in the PTA room.

Of course, if you have something fabulous for a basket that isn't in your classroom, we're sure that you can donate it to that particular class.

Our fabulous calendar that highlights art from the students is being compiled again by Rosemary Junkermann, and is one of the year's major fundraisers.

Rosemary-who is a professional photographer and has donated her time and work for many years on this project-says it's easier than you think to get sponsors, and the calendars are sold for $10 apiece. Sponsors could donate $250.

If you know a business, or have a business, that wants to be a part of the calendar, Rosemary has nice packets of the past calendar and sponsorship info.

Deadlines are coming up so she can get the calendar out before the holidays.
