Valley View is pleased to announce our third annual SPELL-A-THON, a fun program that is academic, promotes literacy AND raises funds for our school.

This week, your child brought home a Spell-A-Thon packet, which includes a word list to study and a Pledge Sheet. Students are asked to get sponsors to pledge any amount of money for every word they spell correctly in a written test they will take the week of December 7.

Please reach out to friends, family, neighbors and coworkers to sponsor your child. 100% of the money raised goes to support our Library and Librarian, Yard Supervisors, Teacher's Aides, Field Trips & Bus Transportation and all the other wonderful things offered at Valley View.

We have some FABULOUS prizes up for grabs, including a NOOK Tablet and a 4-pack of tickets to Universal Studios Theme Park. Just like last year, we will have a fun-filled ice cream party for all students who raise at least $50 in pledges.

So please dig the packet out of your child's backpack and get ready to collect pledges over the Thanksgiving break!
